Brass has nice untouched patina. Stock is excellent with some nicks and dings.

BRITISH PATTERN 1853 ENFIELD RIFLE-MUSKET Percussion, .577 caliber, 39 in. barrel with adjustable rear sight and fixed front sight, lock marked 1863 / TOWER with crown, the number 25 on barrel at breech; brass butt plate, nose cap and trigger guard; the walnut stock with three barrel bands and stamped with a factory cartouche on the right side of the butt, an anchor in front of the buttplate's tang having an S centered below its point rather than a JS, plus an obscured stamp reading "GOO__SON" on the butt's underside. The bayonet is marked by S. PRESTON of Manchester. The usual Confederate import markings are not present.

Four separate hallmarks also visible on the left side of the barrel. Butt plate trigger guard and stock end cap all in brass. Ramrod is steel front sight fixed and rear sight adjustable. Over-all condition is good. Just one medium size crack in the fore stock.
