Ben Shahn, (American, 1898-1969). Offset lithographs accompanying Wendell Berry's memorial poem, "November Twenty Six Nineteen Hundred Sixty Three," 1963. Subject was a tribute to John F. Kennedy, and a memorial to his death. Signed, framed behind glass, 30" x 30. Born in Lithuania to an orthodox Jewish family, Shahn became one of America's leading Social-Realist painters, addressing causes related to social injustices. In 1998, the Jewish Museum in New York City organized a traveling exhibition of his works that he created between 1936 and 1965.

Berryman, Clifford Kennedy (1869-1949), Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonist, his 1902 cartoon of Theodore Roosevelt refusing to shoot a bear cub was responsible for the Teddy Bear. His son Jim Berryman also won a Pulitzer for editorial cartooning.

Robert Lohman (American, 1919-2001), From the artist's personal collection: portrait of a young man with scarf, oil on canvas; 28" x 24". Lohman studied at John Herron Art Institute, and Cranbrook and Yale for graduate work. Assisted Carl Milles at Cranbrook Academy before becoming Director of Fine Arts there from 1947-49. Also taught at Washington U. in St. Louis, and the Indianapolis Art League for 10 years. Teachers include: Maija Grotell and Gaetano Cecere. Among his many accomplishments as an artist, he designed the medal for the Indy 500 Pacemaker Club, 1965, and the medal to represent the US at the Exposition Internationale de la Medaille in Athens, 1966.

They wanted to build a lavish home in Palm Beach for the season which was to be designed by Marion Sims Wyeth. The oceanfront estate know today as Vita Serena on 105 Clarendon Avenue was completed after the death of Mr. Jones. Mrs. Jones later married Captain Robert Amcotts Wilson and they considered the Palm Beach estate their second home. It was eventually sold to Jean Flagler Matthews who rented the house to King Saud during the early 1960s. Today this magnificient property is for sale at the asking price of 27.9 million dollars.

From the estate of Maurice Binder. Born in 1918, Maurice Binder was an American film title designer, best known for his work on 14 James Bond films, including Dr. No. He died in 1991 at the age of 72.

ROBINSON MURRAY PORTRAIT OF AN OLD WOMAN PAINTING Massachusetts1890-1984Titled "Mrs. Annabelle Moseley" depicts a dignified older woman with red lipstick in a red ensemble gazing off to the right. Murray earned a degree in Studio Art graduating from Harvard University in 1912 to pursue a career in commercial art. He quickly left the commercial art world to enlist in the Army and serve during WWI where he'd become a distinguished soldier while continuing to paint in the field. After the war Murray returned to commercial work until his retirement in 1960 when he turned to focus on modern abstract art. During the period of 1960 to 1980 Murray exhibited at the John F. Kennedy Building, Boston and the Copley Society within Boston City Hall.
