The box opens revealing storage compartments for 8 vanity bottles and toulitrie equipment. The Vanity bottles are fitted with sterling tops and the toulitrie tools are fitted with celluloid handles. A Traveling Vanity Box on Stand,
A Traveling Vanity Box on Stand, ca. 20th Century The hardwood box made in India, fashioned with intricate inlaid bone and brass designs, brass corner ornaments, inset brass hinged handles on either side, approx. 18"W x 12"D x 18"H plus the 11"H stand. Inside the hinged lid are two open framed compartments backed with blue velvet on either side of a mirror framed with bone inlay. The interior of the box is fitted with several lift out compartments with lids with blue and purple lining. The painted stand was made to hold the box at a later time.
