USS TUSCALOOSA MARKED MODEL 1903 SPRINGFIELD RIFLE United States,C. 1918.30-06 caliber, serial number 829995, walnut stock with cartouche marks on the left side and marked "16/USS TUSCALOOSA" on the right side of the butt, parkerized receiver marked on the ring "U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903," barrel marked "U.S.M.C./9-42" with an "S" in a circle, with a sight hood and a post-war canvas sling. Note: The U.S.S. Tuscaloosa was launched in November 1933 and it saw service during World War II in North Africa, Normandy, Southern France, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. It was mothballed in 1946 until it was scrapped in July 1959. FFL/C & R.
