The left side of the barrel is marked "COLT D.A. 45" with the two-line Hartford address and patent dates on the top. The underside of the barrel is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". The revolver has the correct standard unpolished blue finish with the Rampant Colt on the side plate, factory inspection marks, and a circled "JMH" final inspection mark at the top left of the frame. The butt has standard model and military serial number markings as well as a lanyard loop. Fitted with smooth grips. 85% plus original blue finish remains with some high point and muzzle wear, scattered light spotting, and a mottled gray/brown patina on the grip straps. The revarnished grips are fine and have some small handling marks and light pressure indentations. Mechanically excellent. See photos for more details on condition. Condition: All metal is gunmetal grey with some staining and pitting; shows use. Original grips have been checkered over. Triggerguard has a nice untouched patina. The holster shows use and leather is supple with some cracking and crazing.

The finish is thinning to a nice patina. Some case colors showing on the frame and loading lever. Grips have been checkered over the original grips. Holster is cracking and crazing. Nice crisp cylinder scene.

Colt checkered hard rubber stocks with Colt logos and the Great Seal of the United States, round barrel, iron mounted with nickel finish, checkered hammer, blade front sight. Barrel length: 4 3/4". Overall length: 10". Serial number corresponds to year 1887. Condition: Overall good condition, nickel finish with areas of loss, blistering to the barrel. Left and right side of hammer with traces of residue. Stocks with light storage dings. Bore is dark with visible rifling. Action holds at full and half cock.

NOTE: the barrel appears to be a 2nd generation barrel attached to an 1881 frame; the patina matches pretty well on both parts (the ejector housing retains most of its bluing).

Overall mottled patina with traces of ble smooth action (though it misfires once about every 3 to 5 times) damage to grips appears to have had the ejector and housing removed. Manufactured in 1900 and thus requires FFL Form 4473.

  Colt Model 1860 Fluted Cylinder Percussion Revolver .44 cal. 7.5'' round barrel S/N 1454. Single-line Hartford address. Four-screw frame. Blued finish with silver-plated backstrap and triggerguard. Walnut grips. Condition: All metal is very sharp and crisp retaining traces of high blue finish mixing with nice brown patina. Backstrap and triggerguard retain all of the silver-plated finish with some of it bumbling up on the backstrap and thinning. Grips retain most of the original varnish with some gone on the high lines. A very nice untouched Colt revolver.
