WINCHESTER MODEL 12 SHOTGUN 16 GAWinchester Model 1912 pump action 16 gauge shotgun. Serial # 1844964 (1961). The M12 was designed by Winchester engineer T.C. Johnson using John M. Browning M1893/97 sliding forearm design. The Model 12 is an internal-hammer pump-action shotgun with an external 6 round tube magazine. The 26" barrel is marked 2 3/4" chamber and FULL. LOP is 14", 45 1/4" overall length. Shotgun features: Simmons vent rib with hi visibility orange fluorescent front sight and Pachmayr recoil pad. Very good contion with light wear to finish including some small scratches and thinning on the edges. Stocks have age appropriate wear including scratches, small dings and an old small hairline crack to forestock. Clean and shiny bore. Blue finish walnut stocks with GHD inspector's mark and crossed cannons cartouche on buttstock receiver marked with flaming bomb and U.S. barrel marked on top with flaming bomb. Condition: Excellent condition with an excellent bore. It retains ca 95% original blue finish with the barrel turned plum purple and minor wear to the magazine tube. The stocks rate excellent with some minor dings and scratches.

Parkerized finish U.S. and flaming bomb on right side of receiver flaming bomb on top of barrel; 4-row ventilated hand-guard; walnut stocks buttstock with GHD inspector mark and crossed cannons cartouche. Condition: Excellent condition with an excellent bore. The roughly machined receiver and small blued parts indicate this shotgun retains its original parkerized finish. The stocks are excellent with almost no defects except for a few very minor dings and scratches. It is rare to find an original WWII Model 12 in this condition and this one is for the discriminating collector who wants only the best example.

This gun appears to be all original but the receiver looks like it has been wire wheeled and factory refinished. The metal surfaces are smooth and all lettering is crisp and legible. The wood is excellent but the buttstock has a 0.75'' tight crack at the top tang. Overall this is a nice Model 12.
