1969 F BETTENCOURT LED ZEPPELIN JETHRO TULL POSTER United States,1969Original 1969 concert poster by Frank Bettencourt for Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, and Fraternity of Man at the Santa Barbara Fairgrounds Arena August 1st, 1969. Poster in overall good condition considering age and display, paper has begun to darken and tone in areas, small approx. 1 1/2" tear left margin, area of light creasing upper right, otherwise displays well and a great looking original poster! Please refer to photographs.

Gull, color concert poster, Santa Clara Fairgrounds, San Jose, CA, 5/23/1969, performers: Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, and Doc Watson, (OP-1) Original Pre-Concert First Printing Poster, 20 1/2 x 14 in., unframed. Glen Trosch says of the work, "This poster from May of 1969 announced a three-day festival to be held at the Santa Clara fairgrounds in San Jose California. This event featured a powerhouse performance by Jimi Hendrix. Led Zeppelin was billed but did not play. Also in attendance were several legendary performers such as Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters and Doc Watson. The image is an illustration by Linda C. Gull that was used for several festival posters in the sixties."

Ben Shahn, (American, 1898-1969). Offset lithographs accompanying Wendell Berry's memorial poem, "November Twenty Six Nineteen Hundred Sixty Three," 1963. Subject was a tribute to John F. Kennedy, and a memorial to his death. Signed, framed behind glass, 30" x 30. Born in Lithuania to an orthodox Jewish family, Shahn became one of America's leading Social-Realist painters, addressing causes related to social injustices. In 1998, the Jewish Museum in New York City organized a traveling exhibition of his works that he created between 1936 and 1965.
