Andre Durenceau, Inspirations, Twenty four pochoir plates showing 128 compositions. Sheet size 17 1/2" x 14", Printed by Birnbaum-Jackson Co., Philadelphia and published by H.C. Perleberg, Woodstock, New York, circa 1928. Andre Durenceau was born in Paris in 1904. He studied art there, specializing in modern decorative art. In 1923 he came to America, which had been slow to adopt the style of the French pochoir pattern books. He soon learned to combine his French training with American conceptions, and the result was Inspirations. This is one of the very few pochoir folios produced in the United States. Estimate $300-500
