*Gastinne-Renette Double Shotgun 24 gauge 26" barrels S/N 4075. 12.25" LOP highly engraved frame in floral designs interwoven; banner on both sides of the frame with Gastinne-Renette in the banner. Deep relief engraved on the back of the lobes of frame.?Safety inlaid in gold.?Deep relief engraved triggerguard with gold crest inlaid. Blued barrels with engraving at the breech.?Finely checkered highly figured walnut stock with checkered butt.?Fully checkered forearm with engraved release.?Marked on the frame French proofs and Gastinne-Renette and the number 4075 and on the front 1901.?Bottom of barrels are marked 14.9 on both barrels and 65 on both barrels along with French barrel proofs and barrel maker Leopold Bernard.? Condition: Barrels retain 95%?of the original blue finish with some brown spots on the top of barrels.?Frame has a nice brown patina with very sharp edges.? Buttstock and forearm have darkened with some nicks and dings and a small chip at the toe.?Complete with 12 boxes of cartridges.

Civil War 1853 pattern .577 caliber Enfield Rifle-Musket dated 1861 standard three-band rifle musket with flock-up ladder sight lock marked at rear: Tower 1961 Sovereign Crown also marked: 25-25 stock features nose cap trigger guard lock screw escutcheons and carved with initials: H? also circle stamped near the butt tang which is commonly found on Confederate rifles barrel L39'' overall L55'' Provenance: Columbia South Carolina private collection. Other Notes: Guns that went North were 24 gauge/.58 caliber whereas Confederate imported guns were 25 gauge or .577 caliber and marked 25-25.
