NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A. PATENTED AUGUST 21. 1894. 25-35 W.C.F.". Tang marked, "Model 1894 Winchester Trade Mark". Walnut stocks, metal frame, octagonal barrel. Standard sights. Barrel length - 26". Barrel has thinning blue mixing with brown. Magazine tube is brown. Both have signs of light pitting. Wood is good but has 2" crack in the right side forearm just behind nose cap. Shotgun style butt. Action is good.

The bottom of the receiver is marked with the serial #9717 and the number "19" is on the left side, next to the trigger. There is a "WP" Winchester proof on the top rear of the barreld top of the chamber ring. Rifle has a mounted Lyman rear peep sight. Barrel measures approx. 22", overall 39 1/2". Age appropriate wear to the finish with oxidation and discoloration. Clean bore, no cracks in the stocks. Barrel top has two drilledholes in front of the rear sight. Bottom of lifter is very dinged directly over caliber marking. Trapdoor works freely. Circa 1890.

Clean bore good rifling strong action. Barrel and magazine have a plum patina some dings in barrel. Frame has a more motled plum patina. Bottom of brass lifter very dinged up. Some scratches in wood. Trapdoor does not work freely. Buckhorn sights are nice good balance. Circa 1888.

Barrel is heavy has a good balance. Circa 1887.

  Winchester Model 1873 Rifle .22 rimfire cal. short 24.5'' octagonal barrel S/N 302716B. Marked on the top flat of barrel 22 Short also on the cartridge carrier. Walnut buttstock and forearm. Condition: All metal is sharp and crisp. Barrel and magazine has a coat of shellac painted on the metal to preserve the metal underneath which it is a nice plum with traces of blue finish. Frame is sharp and crisp with a nice brown patina. Buttstock and forearm have a dark patina. Bore is good; will clean to better.
