from the archive of Captain Clayton Crawford, in the form of a forearm with clenched fist, with red paint decoration.
Length 13 inches.
This piece belonged to Captain Clayton Crawford who was the Chief Engineer on the Rob't. E. Lee, built in 1876, destroyed by fire in 1882, of the Currier & Ives Print fame The Mississippi Great Race against the Natchez. He was also the Chief Engineer on board the 1st City of Pittsburgh.
