Barrel dated 5-38 and has a 5-point star below the date; bolt is 03-A3 with B2 mark and is electro-penciled with S/N 1487086. Condition: Excellent condition with an excellent bore.?Consignor states this rifle is a Marine Corps sniper rifle.

  Boxed Remington Beals lst Model 3d Issue Pocket Pe .31 cal. 3'' octagonal barrel S/N 776. Markings on top of barrel and the frame. Blued finish with gutta percha grips. Complete with original partitioned cardboard box with original starred-style flask loader and mold. Condition: Barrel retains 60% of the original blue finish with some fading to a plum. Cylinder has about 40% of the original blue finish thinning to brown. Frame is a nice brown mixing with some traces of blue in the protected areas. All markings are very sharp and crisp. The original box has some scotch tape on the outer edges to reinforce the box. Accessories are excellent.

The rifle features a wonderfully and professionally crafted metal and wood construction. The rifle has an octagon barrel that shows a side sling eyelet with a moving loader complete with an internal spring and a flip up reticle. The action of the prop rifle works and cocks the hammer back with the internal reciever working properly. The condition of this prop rifle is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The lever and action move such as an original and the trigger releases the hammer. Truly a high quality older prop. Non-functioning prop gun. The measurements of this prop rifle are 43 1/4"L x 6"W x 1 1/4"D.*

Clean bore superb rifling smooth tight action. The finish lettering and bluing are all excellent. The stock does show some light scratches and has been notched numerous times behind the upper tang at the elbow of the stock.

Cylinder retains 40% of the blue finish with the rest thinning to a brown. Grips are excellent.
