Horsier: circa 1860, officer's sabre, 32" blade, T. Horsier Solingen, proved, marked on the ricasso of this imported sword. The blade iron proof etched with "U.S." within a floral panel, the opposite side etched with eagle and shield with patriotic banner. Iron hilt and scabbard, the later engraved with what appears to be a period inscription "Presented to Lt. Matthew Hardie by the men of Tx 28th Cav Co E" in four line inscription. Very good overall. Estimate $1,250-1,500
