A beautiful slate mantel piece clock with a pendulum swing, inlaid with a brass dial face in Roman numerals under a flat glass face that opens on a hinge. The black slate is highly polished and is beautifully carved and put together to resemble a classical temple. Red and white stone discs ae inlaid into the front face and etched with simple cornucopia and foliate motifs. Antique mantel clocks such as this use mechanical movements, and the verso opens to reveal the mechanisms. This clock was functioning until recently and likely just needs to be professionally serviced, and include the 2 keys. Please note that the thick stone construction adds substantially to the weight of this piece, a sturdy clock that is perfect, stately decor!
