St. Zosima and St. Savvatti founded the Monastery of Solovki (depicted in the middle ground) on the islands of the White Sea (symbolized by the water in the foreground) in the 15th century, the Holy Visage of Edessa (image of Jesus on linen cloth "not made with hands" as translated from Cyrillic caption) depicted at top.
