HOPPER PERCUSSION RIFLEca. mid 20th century; 45 3/4” octagonal/round barrel that measures .720” at the muzzle and .935” at the breach, approximately .50 caliber smooth bore, the left rear side of barrel marked “William E Hopper 1953” with an unmarked lock, brass butt plate, patch box, trigger guard, side plate, nose cap, and ferrules, two brass inlays on rear of stock; 1 1/2" width of butt plate, 45 3/4" octagonal/round barrel, 61" overall; Condition: lock does not function correctly, includes the ramrod in excellent condition, sights appear to be original, bore in rusty condition, barrel is a dark brown patina with moderate pitting at the breech, lock is also a dark brown patina being covered with heavy pitting, the gloss finished full length curly maple stock is in very good condition with some small dings and slight wear
