Charles I provincial Apostle spoon, mark a crowned cinquefoil (Jackson, Rev. ed., pg. 338, second photo), Norwich, c. 1650. Back of bowl prick-engraved ‘IB/1659’. Marked on bowl and three times on back of stem. Measures 7.375 h inches, 1.6 ozt.
James I provincial Apostle spoon, possibly for Christopher Roberts (West Country Silver Spoons, Kent, pg. 129 and Jackson, Rev. ed., pg. 324, line 10), Bridgewater, c. 1650. Nimbus of Apostle finial engraved ‘S.R/1761/RP’. Marked in bowl and back of stem with ‘CR’ mark, the stem also with mark of cup between four mullets. Measures 7.5 h inches, 1.7 ozt. Provenance: J.H. 12 STERLING SILVER APOSTLE SPOONS, POSS. SPANISH COLONI...Twelve (12) sterling silver apostle spoons, possibly Spanish or Mexican, with multiple unidentifiable hallmarks on underside of bowl. Each with a large oval bowl inscribed "Carles, 1673" surrounded by incised decoration on underside of bowl, figural motifs at base of handle, twisted handles, with one of the 12 Apostles at each end, all with defining iconographical characteristics. All approximately 6 3/4" L with 2" wide bowl. 20.51 total troy ounces.
Deaccessioned by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation to benefit the acquisitions fund.
Condition:
Overall good condition with general wear including considerable wear to marks.

Unascribed (Jackson, Rev. ed., pg. 523, line 11) with dove nimbus, c. 1630. Bowl prick-engraved ‘IA/MT’. Marked in bowl and three times on back of stem with mark a half fleur-de-lys/device in a shaped surround. Measures 7.125 h inches, 1.7 ozt.
