Pelletiers et des Juges, et Consuls". He is depicted holding a large open book, spines of books behind read "Memoire et Bills". Unframed, 36 1/4" x 28 3/4", relined and revarnished long ago, overall fine craquelure. Debierne served as Commissary to the child Louis VII while he was imprisoned in the tower. The Judge was a member of the "Brotherhood of Liberation", formed to save the "Little Capet'' Regent Prince from the Convention of 1795, with fellow Royalist Doisy, Fenouil and Gomin.
