Provenance: Property sold to benefit the American Folk Art Museum Note: Karl Vondal was born in the Austrian town of Obersiebenbrunn. He was the youngest of many children and when he was old enough to leave school he began an apprenticeship as a bricklayer, which he did not complete. He became mentally ill at this time and was admitted to a mental health facility where his artistic talent was recognized. Since 2003 the artist has worked in both the House of Artists and the open Atelier Gugging. His work was included in the Galerie Gugging in 2003. Condition: staining, slight damage at paper seam
