NEW ENGLAND CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY TALL CASE CLOCK Massachusetts or Connecticut, circa 1770-1780, white pine and chestnut secondary, painted metal face with calendar date dial, second hand surmounted by a draped urn, the hood featuring three turned flame finials, veneered tombstone door, four stop fluted columns, side glass windows, the case with distinctive raised waist door with relief carved shell upper panel, flush base, with three weights and pendulum.

[PROVENANCE: Consigner purchased from Old Timers Antique Clocks, Camp Hill, PA, in 2002 for $3,300. Receipt states it was previously purchased from an old farm house in Vermont.]

The case with a birsdeye and walnut cross-banded inlaid door, inside of door with pencil inscription 'J.B.
