Set of eleven gold encrusted porcelain service plates or chargers, having a lip with scrolled foliate detail and fruiting urns, together with a gold encrusted footed glass mayonnaise bowl in the manner of Cambridge Glass. The plates marked "Ovington" and "New York" to the underside; the bowl unmarked. Catalog Note: This set decorated the dining room at the Windcrofte House on Tuxedo Road. Matthew Boulton Old Sheffield fused plate argyle and covered entree early 19th century pear-form double-wall body with wood finial and handle let-in crest with motto underside marked H6 1/4''; together with Georgian fused plate rectangular entree dish unmarked H5 1/2'' W11 3/4'' W8'' (2pcs) Provenance: Charleston South Carolina collection. Good original condition with wear to let in crest. Cover with bent and dented rim corners. Liner with corresponding damage and small spots of corrosion as does warming section which is uneven on its feet.

Early Victorian Old Sheffield Plate Epergne, second quarter 19th century, with a waisted standard below four embossed acanthus fronds surmounted by a circular frame and above a cavetto-canted square base raised on four rocaille feet, the whole with leafy rococo banding, the standard fitted with four elaborate acanthus-scroll arms, each ending in a circular frame supported by four embossed fronds, the central frames fitted with a large central and four smaller outer cut glass bowls, h. 14-1/2", w. 21-1/4", d. 16".
