BENJAMIN FRANKLIN, DS, AUGUST 14, 1788; FRAMED Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790, American statesman and philosopher, signer of the Declaration of Independence), signature as President of Pennsylvania and shortly following his participation in the Constitutional Convention, on a land grant, August 14, 1788; signed also by James Trimble for Charles Biddle, with a clear impression of the commonwealth seal. By this deed, William Bell gained title to about 240 acres of land in Cumberland Co. Ink on vellum, the seals composed of hard wax and paper.

Franklin Dullin Briscoe (American 1844-1903) Moonlit marine scene with lighthouse. Oil on canvas signed and dated 1876 at the lower right the canvas size apprx. 30-1/2" x 50" framed in a wide gilt period frame overall apprx. 42" x 61-1/4". The sailboat in the center has been converted to the use of steam as well as sails which is consistent with shipping on the Great Lakes in the late 19th century. - Franklin Booth (American, 1874-1948),
Franklin Booth (American, 1874-1948), a rustic scene with a cottage surrounded by gnarly trees, an elderly woman walks down a stone path towards a flock of blackbirds in the foreground; pen and ink drawing; 8 1/4" x 7 1/4"; signed lower left. An illustrator admired for his craftsmanship and imaginative works, Booth was born and raised on a farm in Carmel, Indiana. By 1907 his own work was to be found in Scribners and other prominent magazines. Around 1910, he moved to New York and set up a studio. He lived there for the rest of his life.
