Graduating in 1970 as one of the top five students in the Soviet Union, Stepanyants was awarded the rank of "Excellence as an Artist-Painter." He emigrated to the United States in 1976 and established a career as a professional portrait painter and landscape artist living in NYC, Hilton Head, SC, PA, Iowa and TN.
