THREE FRENCH FAIENCE HAND PAINTED CABINET VASES, SARREGUEMINES AND GIEN FACTORY, CA. 1875 Consisting of: the first of compressed rounded bun shape raised on narrow circular foot ascending into long cylindrical neck with slightly flared rim; hand painted underglaze in polychrome in Raphaelesque style depicting a pelican feeding its babies in a reserve flanked by two dragons, two serpents on the back and two jointed by ribbons mythological creatures holding garland over a marching stork. Marked with triple towers fortress and Gien banner, "10" underglaze on the bottom, 3 ¾ x 3 ½ in.. Second, of baluster tapered rectangular shape on similar foot with applied lion masks with ring handles, and short neck with flared rim over the stepped shoulders. Hand painted in polychrome underglaze arabesque design, marked with "Sarreguemines Gien" and "578" on the bottom underglaze, 6 ¾ x 3 ¼ in. Third, of baluster tapered rectangular shape on short foot, with applied elephant head handles, ascending with a long neck with rectangular opening; hand painted in polychrome underglaze with stylized blooming lotus in lozenge reserves on scaled background, with geometric accents; marked with "Sarreguemines Gien" and "577" and incised with "40" and "74" on the bottom underglaze, 6 ¾ x 2 ¾ in.
