Minimum wall thickness: .038 R & .037 L. Weight: 6 lbs. 5 ozs. W.''; right GEORGE GIBBS - BRISTOL'' with swamp rib two-leaf express sight scope mount doll's-head barrel extension extractors; English walnut checkered full pistolgrip stock with engraved grip cap checkered buttplate blank gold initial oval; splinter forend with lever release; cased in a fitted oak and leather trunk case with accessorries. overall L42 1/4'' barrel L26'' (2pcs)**Subject to State & Federal Firearms Laws** Provenance: Saluda South Carolina private collection. Updated 11/29/2011 Good condition consistent with age and moderate use. Stock shows minor dings. Original checkering. Engraving clearly visible. Steel buttplate hand-checkered with animal engraving. Barrels are well blacked with much original finish remaining some discoloration at forend. Bores very good with slight pitting. British .303 and metric 6.5 cartridges appear to fit the chambers however; *we advise that a gunsmith take casting of actual chamber to determine exact measurements of this gun.

American Style Longrifle by Grice of Birmingham .60 caliber 46'' swapped style octagonal barrel. Rear sight missing flat-style lockplate marked Grice under the pan flat-style hammer faceted-style pan frizzen spring with finial tipped. Brass buttplate with brass patchbox sideplate triggerguard ferules and nosecap. Walnut stock with raised carving on the left side molding from the toe of buttstock to triggerguard raised carving behind tang. Molding around the lock and on both sides of the barrel. Ca 1760-1790. Condition: Barrel has been cleaned. A dull grey finish left with some salt and pepper pitting. Barrel may be an old reconversion. Lock has a dark blue look with readable markings. A small piece of wood was added during the period of use behind the hammer along side of the tang. It was well done; they re-cut the raised carving to blend in. Stock is in excellent condition for the age of the rifle. All brass with a nice tarnished patina.
