A. WATERS MODEL 1836 FLINTLOCK
A. WATERS MODEL 1836 FLINTLOCK PISTOLAn extremely nice US Model 1836 single shot flintlock pistol, dated 1841, with exceptionally clear martial marks on lock, stock, and barrel. The barrel is marked US over JH over P, and two oval cartouches are clearly visible on the stock. Dimensions: 14 inches long overall, with the barrel being 8.5 inches long. Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $32.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
Condition:
Very good, with staining on the barrel and mounts, but no abuse or wear. There is a small crack just in front of the lock, and a couple of minor scratches. The lockplate is dark, but the markings are exceptional. The screw on the cock is possibly a replacement. There is minor pitting above the vent hole, and at the muzzle. Witherell's strives to provide as much information and photographs as possible but encourages in-person inspection by bidders.
