John Allin (British, 1934 -1991) Folk Outsider Art pub scene oil on canvas signed and dated '77 lower right Allin was born in London, he became famous for his simple and direct pictures of East End Streets. Many of these depicted scenes he had known as a child. Allin was a fine natural draughtsman who joined prison art classes while serving a sentence for theft, and continued to work in the evenings later when employed as a Lorry driver. 18" x 13 1/2"

Altman who was born in New York in 1924 is best known for his etchings and lithographs. His subjects are figures in landscapes focusing on soft and serene scenes connecting people to nature.
