The portrait of French actress Sarah Bernhardt as La Princesse Lointaine, hands held to her chin and lilies in her hair, as an endorsing advertisement for LU biscuits, inscribed in the subjects handwriting below "I haven't found anything better than a little LU – oh, yes, two little LU". The arched frame of the image gilded, with images of chickens, the date 1904, and "Lefevre Utile" below. Matted behind glass, gilt and burlwood framed, and mounted with an overhead light. Accompanied by Certificate of Authenticity.
