5 CONTINENTAL BRONZE ALTAR CANDLESTICKSFive (5) brass and gilt bronze torchiere or pricket candlesticks. Three (3) have gadrooned bobeches and columnar shafts above tripod bases ornamented with religious vignettes in bas relief, terminating in three scrolled animal paw feet. Two (2) have pierced scalloped bobeches, knopped shafts with raised images of Greek crosses and stars above tripod bases with pierced scrolling foliate and Gothic cross decorations, terminating in three scrolled feet. Sizes range from 23" H x 6 1/2" W to 27" H x 9" W. All items 19th century.
Property of a Tennessee Religious Institution.
Condition:
Scattered dents, largest 1 1/4", areas of expected oxidation and general wear. Pricket is missing on one candlestick.

CANDLESTICKS, AL...Four (4) brass and bronze items, including pair (2) of brass French Empire candlesticks, baluster form with tapering columns, having cross-hatching, and small dot and line decoration throughout; one (1) large gilt bronze torchiere or pricket altar candlestick with gadrooned bobeche, columnar shaft, and a tripod base ornamented with religious vignettes and three scrolled animal paw feet; and one (1) small gilt bronze Rococo style easel with, with scrolling and foliate pierced design, two scrolling feet, T-hinge support, and scrolling rear leg. Sizes ranging from 10 3/4" H x 4 3/4" dia. All items are Continental, most French, 19th century.
Condition:
1st-2nd items: Slight warping to bodies and bobeches, Wax residue to bobeches. One with solder repair to underside. 3rd item: In good condition with expected patina and some scattered wax residue. 4th item: In overall good condition with expected patina.
