19TH C. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING CHROMOLITHOGRAPH OF CHARLIE MITCHELL AND ''GENTLEMAN'' JIM CORBETT: 24'' x 14 1/2'' sight size, period wood frame with wear, 26'' x 16 1/2''. This fight was to be the first ever to use gloves, and two separate Governors called in the National Guard in an attempt to keep a boxing match out of their respective states. The fight was eventually fought and won easily by Corbett. Assault charges were filed against both fighters, but eventually dropped.CONDITION: Moisture damage in lower margin, scattered spotting, not examined out of the frame.
