EDMUND METZEL ''CHICAGO'' TRAIN SET
EDMUND METZEL ''CHICAGO'' TRAIN SET Edmonds-Metzel Manufacturing Co. of Chicago owned by William Coleman began making ''mechanical tracked trains' in 1907. It was not until the following year that the trains were referred to as ''American Flyer'' and the set was then offered with a locomotive with side rods and a larger passenger car. Not until 1910 was the company's name changed. This exceptional set offers an opportunity to acquire this very first example of what became an American legend. The locomotive tender and non-punched out three window coach are in particularly fine condition for their age. Comes with 2 pieces of original AF track for display 14 3/4'' l. (Pristine Cond.)
