AMES M1832 ARTILLERY SHORT SWORD WITH SCABBARDMexican–American War era, Ames model 1832 foot artillery short sword and scabbard. Ricasso is marked with an eagle above N.P. Ames Cabotville on one side, and US 1846 N.W.P. on the other. The brass guard is stamped WAT on one side and NWP on the other side. The pommel has an eagle on each side. Double edged blade is 19" long. Leather scabbard is good with some cracking to the finish and small areas of loss.
