FLORIDA JOURNEY BOOK 1886"Petals Plucked from Sunny Climes", by Silvia Sunshine. Silvia took an extensive trip in the late 1870s from Savannah, Georgia through all parts of Florida, down to Key West and even around Cuba, noting things of interest in nature and mankind. Many detailed stories - great reading! One great color plate, several engravings. Second edition, 1886, 495 pages. Printed for the author by Southern Methodist Publishing House. Nashville, TN. There is a torn remnant of a page added in the front long ago by a library with rules for taking out books. No other library mentions in book. Still tightly bound, with slight yellowing of pages and almost no foxing (some on colored engraving). One page has very old tape repair. Bound in red cloth, gilt lettering of title on spine plus a number "19" in ink (probably from library). No lettering on front cover. Spine shows, fading wear and likely insect damage, with slight surface insect damage to outside covers. Inside pages supple and in fine condition. Overall very good condition.

Three pamphlets or booklets making up parts 1-2, part 3 and parts 4-5 of An Extract of the Rev. Mr. John Wesley's Journal From His Embarking for Georgia to His Return to London (London, 1797, except for part 3, which is 1805). This covers the founder of Methodism's travel to and time in America from the autumn of 1735 to his return in the autumn of 1743. Bound in the 20th century in black buckram, but it requires some repair, as the first few leaves are weakly attached and the text block is broken between pages 24 and 25.
