LADY IN A FOREST pen and pencil on paper, signed lower right E. V. FRENCH22.5cm x 28.5cmNote: Eric French was the nephew of the Glasgow artist Annie French. Eric was very close to his aunt who encouraged his creativity. Towards the end of her life, she moved to Jersey to be close to her nephew and his mother and painted alongside him. Her influence can clearly be seen in this picture.

Estimate ?800-1 200 Some fairly even discolouration of the paper a creamish tone across the bottom slightly lighter in the white of the cloud but still showing a degree of discolouration and some very fine light speckled foxing colours still strong and bright in an old stepped card mount and painted wood frame.
