Unpolished brass surfaces with uneven slight corrosion, case with minor wear and scratches. Collection of Courtney Smith, Sr., Highland Springs, Virginia.

A fine vintage brass and steel monocular microscope with 3 objectives and the original wooden case and lenses. Manufactured by the Bausch and Lomb Optical Company, the handsome instrument is comprised of painted iron feet, a frame, and polished brass attachments. The frame features a body tube, adjustment knobs, a revolving nosepiece, a circular stage with clips, and an adjustable concave mirror. The drawer contains the 2 different eye lenses and 2 brass capsule cases. The patent dates and maker names are stamped on the frame and stage. The microscope comes with the original wooden storage box with a brass handle for travel. Inside is a drawer with storage for the eye lenses. The original magnification chart is pinned on the door for ease of reference. A great decorative piece for an office! Size of microscope: 7" W x 12.5" H (17.8 cm x 31.8 cm); case: 9" L x 8" W x 14.8" H (22.9 cm x 20.3 cm x 37.6 cm)
