Antique Victorian Drop Leaf Table The mahogany and mahogany veneer table has a pillar and claw pedestal with a pineapple motif carved pillar and deeply carved legs and claw feet rectangular shape top with rounded corners on the front veneered apron with brass edge banding aroung the lower edge. Originally made to expand to a dining table when in use; stored against a wall when not in use with a fold-down leaf. A few old partial hand written labels; underside and back. Carved along the back edge "LANDRETH". Measures apprx. 28-1/2"T x 53-1/2"L x 23-1/4"D. Prov: from the collection of Frederick Hale McDuff.

MAHOGANY QUEEN ANNE DROP LEAF TABLE, POSS. IRISHMahogany Queen Anne drop leaf table, possibly Irish, rectangular top and two drop leaves with plain straight edges. Set on a rectangular base with shaped skirt and slightly curved Queen Anne legs with volute carved knees and triangular slipper feet. 28" H x 40" W x 48" L (each leaf 16"). 18th century.
Private Middle Tennessee collection.
Condition:
Center leaf with sun fading, light wear, staining, losses to one corner. At least three (3) of the volute returns have been replaced, a couple of old patches around hinges to the underside, wooden cross support with insect damage and reinforced on one side with a modern screw. Fold out legs slightly warped. Various separations where the legs intersect the apron.
