A continental silver snuff box (or trinket box) most likely Russian. Embossed engraved with applied jewel decorations and a gold washed interior. Cover features a floral urn motif with emeralds rubies sapphires and small pearls. Silver is unmarked but tests positive. Condition: lid does not shut tight (may need slight bending at hinge) lid is missing three set jewels minor tarnishing see images. Box measures .55'' tall x 2.05'' wide x 1.75'' deep. A Russian Niello Silver and Gold Wash Tobacco Box by Fyedor Ivanov Moscow dated 1879 Oblong rounded corner shape case with hinged cover hinged lid matches compartment and braided cord at the side. Hand etched crest depicting a griffon in reserve on the cover. Marked with 84 silver standard mark Moscow assay mark "A.K" of Andrei Kovalsky and Moscow maker's mark "FI" of Fyedor Ivanov (1843-1882) inside the box and under the lids (in Cyrillic). Box measures apprx. 7/8"T x 3-5/8"L x 2-1/2"W and cord apprx. 9-1/2"L. Weighs apprx. 6.1 toz.

RUSSIAN SILVER GILT SNUFF BOX, 1790Russian silver gilt snuff box, lid with religious motif bordered in script, verso with angel, crown, and date of 1790 enclosed in script, with "E" perhaps for Ekaterina Alekseyevna (Catherine The Great).
