BRASS HANDLED ARTILLERY SABER A
BRASS HANDLED ARTILLERY SABER A 19th Century artillery saber of a European style of manufacture, possibly French or German. The sword features a brass handle with hand guard and protruding round pommel supporting a 23 1/2" long blade. The blade is in relatively good condition with only a few nicks to the edge, some surface rust, and a couple of spots of minor pitting. The only markings still visible on the sword are the letters "MA" in an oval stamped at the base of the blade and on one side of the hilt.

Scabbard has speckles of brown patina mixing with nickel finish. Springfield artillery swords are very scarce and seldom come up for sale.
