Missing one end of the clasp, and includes (1) loose round amber bead. Total approx. weight of the necklace and single bead is 57.2 grams (gross). From the estate of lifelong collector, designer, and dealer, Audrey Flashner. Dimensions: necklace measures approx. 30" in length; round beads measure approx. 8.4mm x 9.6mm. Condition: Good, with light surface scratches and minor dings/dents. Several beads exhibit chips, crazing, and minor repairs. No definitive statement is being made as to whether amber is natural, synthetic or treated.

  EVELYN METZGER OIL ON PANEL & BOOKEvelyn Metzger (American, 1911-2007) oil on panel; initialed and dated '99 to lower left; possibly depicting two Asian women sitting on a large dragon tortoise sculpture. The book that accompanies the painting is "The Age of Grandeur And A Woman Who Lived It: Artist Evelyn Metzger". It is a hard bound book that covers both her social life and her artistic appreciation and contributions, examining her formal studies of art history at Vassar, her flexibility and travels, and her portraits. Artwork measures approximately 18" x 24" unframed and the book measures approximately 11-15/16" x 9-1/2"; painting in good overall condition and book in very good condition. Evelyn Metzger (1911-2007) was a painter of a variety of subjects in a variety of styles including realism, impressionism, fauvism, and cubism. In 1950, she had a major exhibition in Argentina and then exhibited in France, Mexico and the United States. Her work is in the Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington D.C.
