Old Sheffield fused-plate meat cover by Ashforth & Co and tray circa 1784 bail-and-acanthus handle on dome with let-in engraved initials marked on interiors with Ashforth scale and retailer Thomas Bond St; together with associated silverplate serving tray engraved with Graham arms above motto: Reason Contents Me. dome H12 1/4'' L20'' D14 3/4'' and tray L26'' W16 1/2'' (2pcs) Provenance: Charleston South Carolina private collection. Cover has two small linear dents and one pushed-in section letin arms in nice crisp condition. The tray with scuffs consistent with wear and use rubbing and bleeding to arms and underside with bleeding of copper along rim and center panel edge.
