US M1873 Springfield 45-70 Bayonet with Sheath. In good condition with minor wear. Bayonet stamped "US" on bottom of spike. Scabbard is in good condition with some fading on the brass holder. See photos. Bayonet is 21.5" overall with a 17.5" spike.

US Model 1873 at breech plug. S/n 416978. Bore is clean rifling good action strong. Barrel and wood have dark patina. Square cartouche on left side 1886 (hard to read). V P and Eagle head left side of barrel very clear. Eagle and US Springfield and 1883 slightly worn. Leather sheath for bayonet stamped US. brass 'US'' on belt clip. Leather is dry but not brittle. A nice looking combination.

Top of barrel is pitted from poor storage. Nice wood. Also with this rifle is a Civil War .58 cal. bayonet in relic condition. Condition: Very good overall with very good bore.

U.S. Springfield percussion rifle Musket Model 1855 with bayonet NVSN. .58 caliber single shot muzzleloader round barrel fastened by three barrel bands. Cleanout screw on bolster. Iron mountings with brass forend cap. All metal parts finished bright. Steel ramrod with tulip-shaped end and swelled shank. Front sight doubles as lug for angular bayonet included. This is one of the earlier models with a long range rear sight with large leaf and was made without patchbox. Walnut fullstock. Lockplate marked: ''U.S. SPRINGFIELD'' with date stamped at rear of lock behind hammer. Eagle motif on tape primer compartment lid. Barrel marking at breech: V/P eaglehead. ''U.S.'' on tang of buttplate. Inspector initials on left side of stock opposite lock. overall L56'' barrel L40'' (2pcs) Other Notes: Made by the Springfield Armory circa 1857-1861. Total production was 47 115. This model proved to be one of the staple arms of the American Civil war and was the first U.S. Martial Arm designed to fire the Minie bullet in .58 caliber. Arsenal modified during the war to utilize the Maynard Tape Primer System which made loading and firing much faster.

Inspector's marks light but visible on barrel. Walnut stock and forestock, Buffington rear sight, and hand made metal shield attached on left side of breach (purpose unknown). Condition:
Metal finish better than average, considerable blue showing. Bore is good. Mechanically sound. Missing cleaning rod and butt plate. 3" crack extending to front of lock plate to breach of barrel. Crack behind lock plate. Rust on bayonet.

Lock plate is marked w/ an eagle & ''U.S. / SPRINGFIELD'' forward of hammer & ''1864'' rear of hammer. The breech mechanism is marked ''JOSLYN'S PATENT'' Approx. 52'' l. With bayonet Approx. 72'' l.
CONDITION: Hammer spring needs replaced, wear commensurate with age and use.

Model 1816 .69 caliber 42'' round barrel lock dated 1817 (the ''1'' overstruck with a ''5'') walnut stock bolster-type conversion probably by Hewes and Phillips New Jersey original ramrod and bayonet. Older finish with some dings some corrosion. Our consignor (the Hallock family) indicates that all of their guns are in working order but we cannot guarantee their functionality.

This is a hard-to-find rifle if you collect Trapdoors.? Condition: All metal is very sharp and crisp and is a dark brown.?Bore is excellent.? Stock is good with very sharp cartouche.
