BELGIAN WWI / WW2 INFANTRY HELMETBrodie/Doughboy type, possibly later in date of manufacture. The first designed by John Leopold Brodie in 1917, the underside with adjustable fittings, the side with a painted Belgium flag. The M1949 a post-war Belgian-made copy of the British Mark II helmet. The shell was identical to the British original, except that the liner fixing screw on the crown sat in an indentation. (Cond: surface abrasions, possibly repainted, copy)

VERY RARE BOOK, BELGICA NOSTRI, 16TH CENTURYA very rare 16th century vellum bound and tied book dating from 1598. “Emeritus Meterani, Belgica Nostri 1548-1598" (The history of Belgium). This remarkable 600-year-old book shows a double page map of Belgium, along with 18 engraved plates of various rulers and nobility from the period. Written in Latin, the condition is remarkably good with no apparent loss or damage beyond what would be considered commensurate with a book of this age. 12.25" x 8.25 x 1.75". Provenance: The Estate of Joseph Liverant, Ottawa.
