LINO BIANCHI BARRIVIERA ETCHINGS
LINO BIANCHI BARRIVIERA ETCHINGS TRIOLino Bianchi Barriviera (Italian, 1906-1985) etchings from the suite of five "Vedute Di Napoli", 1957; each pencil signed LR; each measures approximately 16" x 19-3/4" with matting and has a sight image of approximately 12" x 15-3/4"; all shrink-wrapped on cardboard and in good condition. Lino Bianchi Barriviera, artist, painter and etcher, was born in Montebelluna (Treviso) in 1906 and died in Acilia (Rome) in 1985. After the first years of his youth, he lived in Venice and Florence, moving to Rome in 1935, and at the end of the 70’s settling in Acilia. The fame of Barriviera is mainly linked to his large production, more than 950 plates, for which he mostly used etchings but also experimented with several other techniques. It has to be noted also that he performed masterfully in other forms of arts, first with oil painting, and then wall frescoes and tempera decorations, wood-carving, stained-glass windows, mosaics, ceramics, embossing, stamp engravings, and jewel making.
