MIAMI BILTMORE HOTEL SILVERPLATE
MIAMI BILTMORE HOTEL SILVERPLATE SERVING TRAYSTwo 18" x 11-1/2" silverplated Gorham serving trays, heavyweight restaurant ware. The end handles have a scroll "B" in them for Biltmore and the maker's stamp on the back has the Gorham name and logo, Miami Biltmore, and 1926 date. As the hotel was built in 1926; it is not clear if the stamped 1926 date refers to the date tray was made or date hotel was opened. Both trays show heavy use, numerous scratches, some small dents. Both have some heavy irregular tarnish, but must have been heavily plated as there is no apparent silverplate wearthrough except around the rim of the foot on reverse. Would clean up nicely.
