LARGE DING BLACK GLAZED FOLIATE DISHLarge Ding Black Glazed Foliate Dish. The wide flaring sides rising from a short foot to a six-lobed rim, the cavetto applied with six vertical ribs radiating from the central medallion, covered overall in an opaque purplish-black glaze pooling in characteristic tear drops, the unglazed rim and partially glazed foot reveal the buff stoneware, 9.8 inch diameter. Provenance: From a private Northern California estate by descent.
