The edition is listed in pencil lower left. This work is unframed.French subjects, including the town of Antibes, were not an uncommon subject for Arthur Hall. This image, and a watercolor in the Wichita Art Museum titled Boat Houses-Antibes are two examples. Arthur and Norma Bassett Hall worked and studied in Europe from 1925 to 1927, mostly traveling France and Britain.Image measures 6.5 x 9 on a 8.5 x 10.75 inch sheet.Very good condition, the full untrimmed sheet, not laid down, no damage, stain, puncture or repair, there are brown tape tabs at each corner as shown here outside the frame.Provenance: A private San Francisco collection.

Not removed from the frame. The sheet is gently rippling within the frame, but appears to be in very good condition.

METAMORA STEAMBOAT PHOTOGRAPH, 19TH CENTURY19th Century photograph of the riverboat Metamora with the Hart's Line boat house in the distance. Photograph taken at the height of the Golden Era of steamboats on the Ocklawaha River. Carved wood frame measures 13" x 12". Photograph measures 7 1/2" x 4 3/4". Excellent condition. The Lucas steamer, the Metamora, was described as the most handsome and luxurious steamboat on the Ocklawaha. In 1903, the Metamora was headed back to Palatka, after a stop at Silver Springs, when it sank in the middle of the night. Two deck hands were drowned, but all the passengers survived. Jacksonville’s “Florida Times-Union†described the incident as the first serious accident “on the famous Ocklawaha.“
