Seventy-Eight-Piece Booth Pottery, Staffordshire, Partial Table Service, for eight persons, first quarter 20th century, in "Real Blue Willow" pattern, comprised of seven dinner plates, dia. 10", nine bread-and-butter plates, five soup plates, dia. 7-1/4", ten salad plates, eight breakfast bowls, six dessert plates, ten berry/dessert bowls, seven teacups, h. 2-3/8", a circular tray, dia. 12", an oval poultry platter, a covered two-handled soup tureen, a coffeepot, h. 9-3/4", a teapot, h. 6-1/2", a cream pitcher and a covered two-handled sugar basin, all of the pieces fully backstamped in blue.

Franklin Booth (American, 1874-1948), a rustic scene with a cottage surrounded by gnarly trees, an elderly woman walks down a stone path towards a flock of blackbirds in the foreground; pen and ink drawing; 8 1/4" x 7 1/4"; signed lower left. An illustrator admired for his craftsmanship and imaginative works, Booth was born and raised on a farm in Carmel, Indiana. By 1907 his own work was to be found in Scribners and other prominent magazines. Around 1910, he moved to New York and set up a studio. He lived there for the rest of his life.
