RUSSIAN SILVER ENAMEL BOWL W/ SPOONRussian silver and enamel bowl with a spoon. The bowl enameled along the exterior with floral and geometric motifs. The interior with a gold wash. The underside with Moscow city marks, an 88 zolotnik silver standard, dated 1881, and with an assay mark of Andrey Antonovich Kovalsky. The small spoon with an elaborately twisted handle, enamel decoration along the underside of the bowl, and an inscription in Cyrillic along the interior of the bowl. Marked along the stem with an illegible maker's mark and an 88 zolotnik silver standard.
Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Bowl; height: 2 1/4 in x diameter: 4 1/4 in. Spoon; length: 4 1/2 in.
Condition:
The bowl and spoon are in excellent condition; no visible chips, cracks, or dents. Both items show light wear throughout; no visible loss to enamel. There is erosion to the recessed area along the inner side. Wear to the underside, consistent with its age and use. Please contact us for a detailed condition report.
