COLONIAL-ERA SOCKET BAYONET A socket bayonet from the American Colonial Period, likely for the Brown Bess musket in British service at the time. Bayonet has heavy rust and pitting throughout as well as some light gouges and a deformation to the socket.

AMERICAN COLONIAL MUSKET WITH BAYONET A Brown Bess style rifle composed of European and American parts, 3rd quarter 18th century: round barrel secured to stock with pins and later wires, with no apparent marks, 43 in. L.; flint ignition, the plate with Crown and V proof mark; beech full stock with brass butt plate, trigger guard, thumb rest, and ramrod guides; iron ramrod; 59 5/8 in. L. overall. Accompanied by a bayonet of the period, stamped "70" on the ricasso and engraved "82" on the socket, 16 3/4 in. L.

Long Land Pattern Type British Brown Bess Musket with Bayonet .75 cal. 46" round barrel. Marked on the top about 3" from the breech V 111 REG. with British proofs;? also marked at the breech with the initials RB. Plus proof marks on the tang. Rear of lockplate?marked Grice?and dated 1861. Under pan has the crown with GR. ?Behind the beaver tail a brass escutcheon is marked 8 over 48. Brass buttplate brass sideplate ferules and nosecap. ?Walnut stock. ?Bayonet is marked crown/31 hadley/4 and a large IW. Condition: Barrel has been cleaned to bright with some pitting and staining. Lock has been cleaned with some pitting and staining. Stock has had the last 17" restored with a piece put in at the wrist. ?This restoration is excellent. ?A very hard to find Rev. War musket especially with American militia markings.

BRITISH BROWN BESS MUSKET, 18TH CENTURYA mid 18th century British Brown Bess flintlock musket, the distinctive 'banana' shaped lock plate stamped TOWER with a test date of 1743, together with the Royal Cypher for King George II, showing a frizzen with curled toe & feathered frizzen spring, the brass trigger guard fitted with a sling swivel - found again on the pin mounted walnut stock, the .75 caliber smooth bore barrel having a rectangular bayonet lug / front sight, together with a brass mounted ramrod pipe with brass forearm cap. Minor split to muzzle. Overall length: 61".

Note: This firearm was purchased by our consignor in 1976 at an estate sale. At that time, it was said to have been brought back from the Texas War of Independence by a member of the Dickinson family of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Accompanying paperwork discusses the overall importance of this type of firearm in nineteenth century wars.

U.S. ARMY M4 BAYONET IN M8 SCABBARD
U.S. ARMY M4 BAYONET IN M8 SCABBARD An M4 bayonet manufactured by Kinsfolk, Inc. with an M8 scabbard made by B.M.C.O. The bayonet sports a 6 3/4" blade with matte black finish with a leather grip handle. The M8 scabbard is in overall good condition with no damage to the fiberglass body or stamped metal throat and only minor wear to the fabric strap. The bayonet itself is in fine condition with only a few minor nicks to the edge and some green paint present at the top of the grip.
