Carved and painted wooden duck, in preening posture, glass eyes, wire legs with remnants of skin, 17-1/2 in. Old painted surface with abrasions, losses and penciled notes for paint decoration and various breeds of ducks, lacking foot and leg elements and platform for mounting.

BLACK DUCK BY JOSEPH LINCOLN As Lincoln black ducks go, this one is a little larger than most, with a robust form and upswept tail. There are delineated wings and wing tips, feathering to its back, and unusual dotting on the wing patches, all done with a slightly darker shade of paint than the body. A highly unusual species. Unsigned. Identified as "BLACK DUCK" in white on bottom.
3 3/4" long.
